About me
Milly Golia is a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics and Translation at Jaume I University in Valencia, Spain. After earning her Master’s in Legal Translation with a double major in Interpreting and Language Instruction from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, she also received two certificates in Global Operations Management and Applied Project Management from the University of California, Irvine. She is the Founder and CEO of Bureaucom LLC, which provides written and oral translation services in over 100 languages to the medical and healthcare industries. As such, she worked as a medical interpreter and handled scientific papers for the health care institutions she translated, preparing them for submission to well-known, highly competitive international journals. Securing publication in any of these journals requires a faithful translation; accordingly, Milly consistently produced high‑quality work. Her translations demonstrated not only strong proficiency in English but also an outstanding command of Spanish and an excellent understanding of complex technical material. Additionally, she developed the Legal Spanish Interpreting Program for the University of California Certificate Program. Milly is the creator of Take5steps©, a curriculum and training program for students aspiring to become professional translators or interpreters. She advocates for language access and is the Founder and CEO of a non-profit called Language Access www.languageaccess.org. The mission is to raise awareness of the shortage of college-educated professional translators and interpreters and to help immigrant communities access services in their native languages.
